Quest Therapeutic Services is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing physical, occupational and speech therapies to children with special needs. Located in West Chester, PA, Quest's specialty is hippotherapy, or treatment with the use of a horse. Based on the patient's responses to the movement of the horse, OTs are able to recommend and administer a thorough treatment protocol.
In this video, ADVANCE talks to Sandra McCloskey, PT, director of Quest Therapeutics and her staff, while also following OTs through a typical hippotherapy session. McCloskey founded the program in 1996 under the name Harmony in Motion, initially treating about a half-dozen clients once a week. In the year 2000, the program became Quest Therapeutic Services, Inc. and grew to the point that McCloskey and her staff now treat over 100 clients.
