Back on Their Feet
ADVANCE columnist Iris Kimberg, MS PT, OTR, talks about her efforts to help the therapy community in Lower Manhattan rebuild.
Iris Kimberg, MS PT, OTR, has lived and worked in New York for over 20 years. In the aftermath of September 11, she started the Downtown Therapists Assistance Project, a fund to help therapists with practices in Lower Manhattan rebuild. The fund collected donations of money and equipment, and within a year helped all but one therapist who had been displaced as a result of the destruction in the city return to their practices. Kimberg spoke to ADVANCE last month about her memories and experiences following the 9/11 attacks.
